Nelson Neale

Head of CHS global research

Nelson Neale is the leader of CHS global research, helping to drive insights and market intelligence across the CHS enterprise and creating thought leadership in agriculture and agri-energy. He has also been president of CHS Hedging since 2019, overseeing all commodity brokerage operations and farm and financial planning services.

Prior to joining CHS Hedging, Neale was head of services for WinField United, Arden Hills, Minn., and served as president of WinSure Captive Insurance Company. Previously he held management and global risk and commodity trading positions with Oliver Wyman Consulting, Inc., New York, N.Y.; The World Bank, Washington, D.C.; Tyson Foods, Springdale, Ark.; UBS Investment Bank, Stamford, Conn.; and Enron, Inc., Houston, Texas. Neale earned a Ph.D. in engineering from Rice University, Houston, Texas; a master’s degree in engineering from North Carolina State University, Raleigh, N.C.; and a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Davidson College, Davidson, N.C. He also holds a certificate in quantitative finance from Fitch Learning, London, England.
